Trusted Organization Standards

Explains how Pocket Genes reviews organizations, labels content, handles promotion, investigates complaints, and limits endorsement.

Purpose and scope

These standards explain what Pocket Genes reviews before giving an organization a trusted place in the ecosystem and what ongoing rules apply after approval.

Trusted Organizations may help people who received or are reviewing a confusing genetic report find education, resources, events, support, and better questions. Trusted status is not a commercial plan, a guarantee of quality, or an endorsement of every service or claim.

Who these standards apply to

  • Organizations applying for or holding trusted status.
  • Organization administrators, staff, professionals, volunteers, and publishers.
  • Users who follow, report, or interact with organizations.
  • Pocket Genes reviewers and moderators.

Definitions

Trusted Organization

An organization reviewed for accountable identity, mission fit, community value, content standards, and safety fit.

Organization content

Profile text, posts, events, resources, education updates, links, images, and calls to action published through organization features.

Promotional content

Content intended to sell, recruit, advertise, collect leads, promote a paid service, or drive users to a specific product, provider, test, event, or program.

No-endorsement boundary

The rule that trusted status is a participation signal, not Pocket Genes approval of every claim, service, clinician, product, study, or external resource.

Verification and eligibility

  • The organization must have a clear public identity, accountable contact, real mission, and relevant relationship to genetics, rare disease, patient support, education, research, care navigation, advocacy, or related resources.
  • Pocket Genes may review public website, leadership or administrator identity, contact information, mission, jurisdiction, conflicts, content examples, privacy posture, and community value.
  • Organizations must be able to explain who publishes content, who reviews content, how users can contact them, and how promotional or sponsored material is identified.

Review criteria

  • Identity and accountability.
  • Relevant community value after a genetic result or during a rare-disease journey.
  • Content usefulness, readability, source quality, and review process.
  • Privacy boundaries and refusal to pressure users for private reports or codes.
  • Separation between education, support, patient engagement, fundraising, promotion, and medical services.
  • Ability to respond to complaints or corrections.

Content labeling and promotion

Organization content must identify the publisher. Promotional material, sponsored content, fundraising, recruitment, commercial programs, clinical-service promotion, or paid opportunities must be labeled clearly and not disguised as neutral education or peer support.

Organizations must not use fear, urgency, diagnosis uncertainty, caregiver stress, or rare-disease vulnerability to pressure users into buying services, sharing private reports, joining external groups, or sending personal information outside Pocket Genes.

Ongoing review, complaints, and enforcement

Users can complain about an organization by reporting content in the product where available or emailing support@goldencrowvs.com. Useful reports include the organization name, content link or screenshot, date, concern, and any privacy or safety risk.

Pocket Genes may periodically review trusted status, request corrections, add labels, remove content, pause publishing, suspend trusted status, remove an organization, or require re-application when standards are not met.

No endorsement

Trusted status means Pocket Genes reviewed the organization for participation fit. It does not mean Pocket Genes endorses every article, event, provider, professional, resource, treatment claim, product, fundraising campaign, study, trial, or service connected to that organization.

Pocket Genes responsibilities

  • Review organizations before assigning trusted status.
  • Provide clear labeling and complaint paths.
  • Act on organization reports proportionally to risk.
  • Suspend or remove trusted status when privacy, safety, promotion, identity, or content standards are violated.

Organization responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate identity, contact, and mission information.
  • Publish useful and reviewed content appropriate for patients, families, caregivers, and people newly trying to understand results.
  • Respect privacy boundaries and do not request private report links or codes through community content.
  • Label promotion and conflicts clearly.
  • Cooperate with corrections, complaints, and periodic review.

Exceptions and limitations

  • Pocket Genes review is not a professional license verification unless a specific workflow says so.
  • Pocket Genes may not review every external page linked by an organization in real time.
  • Local laws, professional rules, and provider obligations may impose additional requirements on an organization.

How to make a request or report a problem

Privacy, account, deletion, accessibility, safety, trusted-organization, and security requests can be sent to support@goldencrowvs.com. Use a subject line that identifies the issue, the affected Pocket Genes account or workflow, and whether the request is urgent.

Pocket Genes may need to verify the requester before changing or disclosing account information. Verification is handled proportionally to the request, the sensitivity of the information, and the risk of giving account access or private information to the wrong person.
